About the Book
Growing up the stepdaughter of Buck Abbott, a Champion Cowboy in the early 50’s, Robin L. Schwarz was inspired to write this Children’s book with co-author R.D. Sloan. The authors recognized the void in Children’s literature for an inspiring story about a brave young boy who with hard work and determination became a little champion. Almost every child wants to be a cowboy or cowgirl and ride a wild bronc. Ron and Robin’s focus is to magically take the young children through a series of stories about a brave little cowboy. Exciting illustrations and a suspenseful story will entertain the readers as they ride along with Ronnie in every leap and every turn on a wild bronc that has never been ridden. In this book, the first in a series, Little Rodeo Ronnie climbs on Tornado, the biggest, meanest bucking bronc ever seen. The stories will always try to emphasize the important values of obeying parents and learning responsibility in order to realize their dreams.
About the Author
Co- Author Robin L. Schwarz Robin has been writing poetry for friends and family since she was a little girl. Her family encouraged her to write professionally but she never took her writing seriously. Her biological father’s dying wish was that Robin would do something with her talent. Robin enrolled in the Robin then became editor of the ‘Mojave Star Journal’ newspaper in Robin continues to ride and enjoy the rodeo excitement in barrel racing and mounted shooting and is currently writing two novels. Mr. Sloan became inspired to co-author this children’s book for a variety of reasons. There appeared to be a void in children’s literature for a good clean wholesome story about fine rural people and their way of life. The story reflects a little boy’s challenges and bravery to overcome almost an insurmountable feat. It also depicts a respect for animals that play a very important part in the sport of Rodeo. The author senses a general conception that the children of today are missing a great deal that was everyday life during his growing up period. The wholesomeness of family plays an important role in this book and the respect of a father-son relationship with the love and admiration that the reader can sense. Prior to computers playing such an important role in our lives, families found ways to entertain their children and spend a great deal of time together sharing values such as respect for their parents and elderly folk. Good manners were part of growing up, teaching the foundation for a fine respectful adult in later life. In most cases this contributes to a hard working reliable citizen who is patriotic and who also cares for his fellowman. With respect to the author, he grew up on the Canadian prairies where farming and rodeos were part of everyday living. He is grateful to this day for the freedom that rural life provided where as a young boy he could run free for miles to explore all of natures wonders. One day you could be hunting for small game birds and the following day take a trip to the river to go fishing. This is all part of the growing up process that creates character and a respect for the natural things around us. Currently Mr. Sloan is Chairman of the Board / President of a publicly owned trading company in the Co-Author R.D. Sloan
