Along time ago, during the days of yore, in the land of Zao, there lived a great and powerful wizard; who reigned in a castle that rested high atop a mountain, which sat in the middle of the mystical lake where the unicorns and Pegasus’ would quench their thirst.
One day the wizard stood by the window of his tower. He quickly noticed that the birds weren’t singing, the waters sat still, and the air had a sense of great sorrow. Instantly the great and powerful wizard knew that it was the time for the return of the evil overlord that had ruled the earth many years before like the book of knowledge had told of. He also knew that it was up to him to save the world, as did his great-great grandfather the last time the overlord tried to return.
After packing all that he would need, and before leaving, he cast the runes. They told of a great battle that would be fought over many hours, but no matter the circumstances to not give up any or the battle would surely be lost.
After the reading he put the runes back into their black sack. Then he placed them in with his Anathema along with his wand and crystals.
Upon leaving he grabbed his staff that rested against the wall by the castles main entrance.
Outside his castle on the shore rested his raft. After launching it into the water he sat in the middle of it and with a few graceful hand gestures and chanting words of
power the raft moved gracefully, silently across the lake to the other shore.
After landing and getting off, he sent the raft back and then thanked the God Jupiter and the Goddess Juno from whom all powers evolved.
He then traveled through the woods till he came to the edge of darkness.
There he made his camp. As the moon rose over the horizon he knew that he had three days to find and conquer the evil that would soon try to consume the world and destroy all o

About the Book
A Voice … From Within” was complied in honor of James W. Loftin who died from Breast Cancer. This book contains poems, which were written by him, it also contains short stories, and other small miscellaneous works from his personal journals. This book is a tribute to his memory. It also serve as an encouragement for those who are struggling in life not to give up their hearts desires and wishes…for wishes are what dreams are made of and yes they do come true. Hold on and never give up regardless how hard things may appear to be.
About the Author
James W. Loftin (38) lived a short life upon this earth – having died from complications from breast cancer. (March 20, 2003) He struggled and fought most of his existence to overcome obstacles, hardships, struggles … he was working on his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix (AZ and CA). He lacked 3 months of finishing his degree with maintaining a 4.0 average throughout his educational experience. But in the end his bout with breast cancer took its toil. This book would help others who are going through the same problems to understand his struggles and how he overcame his obstacle through his writings. . It also serve as an encouragement for those who are struggling in life not to give up their hearts desires and wishes…for wishes are what dreams are made of and yes they do come true. Hold on and never give up regardless how hard things may appear to be.
