Arick: Look at those dark clouds in the distance. We could be in store for a storm.
Mark: That’s just what we need now…a storm. We are fifty miles from shore.
Chris: This boat is big enough to handle any storm.
Vicki: That’s just what they said about the Titanic.
Narrator: Kevin and Sarah also looked at the dark clouds in the horizon.
Kevin: I checked with the Coast Guard Weather Station in
and they called for clear sky through tomorrow. I better radio them again
to see if anything is heading in our direction
Sarah: That sky doesn’t look too promising. I hope the weather report is true.
Jennica: Cori, do you think it will rain soon?
Cori: I hope not, it isn’t supposed to. My dad checked the weather on the internet
before he brought me to the boat.
Ruth Ann: I hope they have enough life preservers onboard.

About the Book
The three plays in this book were written and designed to develop the reading skill of children through a fun and exciting format. Creative thinking, writing and comprehension worksheets are contained at the end of each play. Key word attack techniques are located on the last page of the book.
The main characters in each play are ten children, who are suddenly placed into very challenging situations. The children are faced with adventures which require leadership, courage, teamwork and creative thinking in order to survive.
The author has a doctorate in cognitive studies, a master of science degree in reading and a bachelor of science degree in history and physical education. He has many years of successful teaching experience. The majority of his experience is in the field of diagnostic and developmental reading.
Classmates, friends and family members will enjoy reading and learning from the excitement and fun offered by the contents contained in all three of the plays contained in this book.
About the Author
The author has taught diagnostic and developmental reading for many years and wrote the plays in this book to help children develop reading skills in a creative and fun manner. The author has published several articles such as, To Ritalin or Not to Ritalin, Autism- creative treatments to unlock the causes, Cognitive Development Boxes...a key to rapid memory development.
The author has also published two books of poetry and has served as the editor of a sports paper. He is currently writing a novel about the American educational system which will be titled, In Between Classes.
