It’s amazing the things I notice
When some others wouldn’t care.
The new shoes that she bought
Or something she did with her hair.
In the halls I see her.
Everything is black and white,
Except her small glow
That gives the moon its light.
Her willingness to smile
Is never anything new
And how cute she looks
Even when she doesn’t want to.
I take unnecessary trips
Past her door.
Always finding myself
Going back for one more.

About the Book
Damn Love Poems is a poetic journey through the love life of the young author and poet Matty Phelan. From the age of twelve to twenty-three, his relationships are traced from innocence to mature and developed love. Each poem breaths honesty as stories are told of love, hurt, sacrifice and moving on for his better good. His words are sure to move you as he holds nothing back when it comes to true feelings and confessions.

About the Author
Matthew (Matty) Francis Severson Phelan was born in Kingwood,
Phelan was first taught to write poetry at the age of eleven. He continued to write on his own as he knew he had a talent for putting his thoughts onto paper. For the next ten years, his inspirations came from the different girls he encountered throughout his teenage years and early twenties. And then at the age of twenty-two his poetry took a turn in a different direction where he found inspirations in something other than his relationships. His inspirations evolved into dark fictional stories with an element of non-fiction.
Damn Love Poems is Phelan’s publishing debut. It is a collection of his favorite poems with certainly more to follow.
