About the Book

Life is a book of poetry that I have continued writing over the course of three years. I write about love, and loss, and I will tell you that most of the poems have a pretty interesting story that follows them because they are written based on experience. I wrote Life to show other teens that there are others out there going through what they are. Others that feel the pain they do, but that there are also others that care. I wrote it so that other teens don’t have to go through life alone. I feel that growing up, friendships play a big part in shaping those teens into what they eventually become, and that no child, teen or adult should ever feel alone. I am nowhere near adulthood, but I want to make a difference, I want to reach out to other teens that feel the way I did. Hopefully my writing will change some of their lives, the way the poets of the past and the everyday heroes in my life have made a difference in mine. I’ll leave you with one last saying, something that I will always remember where ever I go and something that was told to me by my parents, “In life, choose your friends, don’t let your friends choose you.” I hope you enjoy my view on Life.

About the Author

Angel Vasquez is a 14 year old writer that has been writing poetry since she was first inspired in seventh grade. Her favorites include The Good Bye That Never Came, On My Knees, and Through Her Eyes. Most of her poems were based on actual feelings or events that have happened in her life, some are about loss and others get as deep as love. She carries her emotions on her sleeve and lives to please the people closest to her. Some of her favorite poets include Edgar Allen Poe and Emily Dickinson, also inspiring her to write. When Angel is not writing she chooses to spend her time dancing and finds the studio an inspiring place to write. Growing up in a family of six makes life a little hectic at times but without the support of her family Angel never would have gotten the chance to discover her true passion for writing. Not only does she write poetry but her ability to write has expanded into fictional novels, including her first novel The Mission, and the sequel, The Mission: Victoria’s Revenge. Her latest work is the novel Ten : Twenty One, One of Angel’s personal favorite. Angel’s passion has been writing and expression since before the young girl can remember, and these books are helping make her dream come true.
