About the Author

Born in the early 1940’s into a severely dysfunctional household, Lucile spent her early years plagued by fear and insecurity.  By the time she entered elementary school Lucile found through reading and writing she could experience an inner peace which was like a stabilizer for her. Lucile continued writing through out her life. She used this tool to sort out her thoughts, to reflect and to gain a sense of direction. Though she never sought writing as a career, she did write secular poetry and had some of those poems published. She was unaware however God was taking all of her life’s experiences and was creating the library in her mind that would later bring forth her Christian writings.

In 1981 at the age of 40, Lucile found herself in deep crisis. She would later discover she was suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This too is when God literally called her to be saved. He also began fusing the images in her mind into poems. Love letters to Jesus and to the humanity around her that she always wanted to help.

In 2004 Lucile was reading some of her poems to her daughter Lisa when it was made clear to them to compile a book of poetry. Her poems reflect her love for Jesus and the reality of how He saved her life from becoming a wasteland.  How a belief in Him can free the soul to soar and bring healing, peace and resolve to the woundings of the human spirit.

Healed from many years of PTSD, Lucile presently lives in the Southwest, studying Scripture and writing.  She and her daughter Lisa have started The Scarlet Cord Ministry,

which will include a website with bible studies, daily devotions and poetry.
