Born in South Carolina, Elaine J. Jones has spent most of her sixty-three years in a multi-faceted career that has included stints of teaching high school, junior high and college level mathematics. She has worked as a copydesk editor and layout person for a newspaper, a copywriter and promotions manager for a radio station—and what she enjoys the most—counseling young people and motivational speaking.
She loves people as can be attested to by many, many persons—in addtion to her biological children and foster children—who call her “Mama E.” She is a licensed minister, a workshop facilitator, and motivational speaker. She attributes what she refers to as “tested knowledge” to her experiences in the crucibles of life’s trials. The “kneeology” is what she gained in time spent with God in her prayer closet.
Her prior writing experiences includes: An Equal Opportunity Manuel for the Military, written while in Germany; a class manuel and guide for Richland County School District’s Adult Programs, “Accenting Your Image;” a manuel/journal to accompany a workshop she designed and facilitates entitled, ”Baked But Not Done.” Added to the list of writings is a guide to motivating sales representatives of multi-level marketing programs entitled “Who’s In Charge?”
A bout with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) caused her to slow down her energetic lifestyle enough to begin journaling—which is probably a significant factor leading to the publishing of this book of poetry. Here is a fresh new voice in poetry that many shall long remember—whose greatest desire in life is to be “A Woman God Can Trust.”
