About the Book

Take a look inside yourself… There is a psychological term called motivation which is the study of why you do things you do. What do we do when psychology has reached its limit and the problem we seek relief for continue to exist? Can it be that the majority of the problems that affect the soul have to be dealt with from a spiritual standpoint? When we act up, or respond to situations in a way that latter causes us to be embarrassed, ashamed, or feel guilty, the root cause could be damaged emotions or wounded spirit. You may be doing things you don’t want to do, but you do know how to change your behavior. In this book, you will not only find tools to help you discover why you do the things you do, but also learn strategies that will help you to make changes that will result in your becoming a better person.

About the Author

Edward A. Patterson Jr. was born in Norfolk Va. In July of 1954.  He was the fifth of eight children.  Of the four sisters born before him, two of them added excitement to their lives by what was considered to them as friendly taunting.  Although it took many years,

Edward found out that the taunting was not friendly after all.  As he later found out, the taunting was very damaging.  He grew up with very low self-esteem, had a very low concept of himself, and felt that he would not be able to accomplish anything in life.  Having such a low concept of himself sent him on a trail of destruction.  After years of destructive behavior, he finally decided to get help.  It started him on the trail to recovery.

He learned what made him respond to life’s crisis the way he did.  He felt the need to further his understanding by studying early childhood development, psychology, and Bibliotherapeutic counseling.  He attended several institutions of higher learning in the North Carolina area.  He is convinced that God has put him on this earth for the purpose of showing other people how to overcome their emotional prison.  It is his belief that his past situation is not at all unique.  There are millions of people who are locked up in the emotional prison.  His desire is to help as many people as he can to be healed from their past.  It is his firm belief that after the healing takes place, he has the necessary principles that will allow people to be overcomers.
