You were going someplace with a girlfriend, I remembered hearing that much. As usual, I listened poorly. When the Cherry grandfather clock, sounded a menacing twelve midnight, I began to worry, as is my custom about, things I cannot change and worry rained in on me and I feared for the unknown. Therefore, I waited in my truck at the end of the driveway. Waited and wrapped in two layers of creamy goose down, with only my eyes exposed. The damp air turned colder white, with snow gathering on the dark tree branches and I postponed going back to the house. I told myself I would wait until the Sun comes up. Imagery of ever sort of despair made its way to my brain and then you called saying, “The plane landed in Aruba safely.” It is true I do not listen well. Thomas kemp/poet

About the Book
When I was a young boy I wanted to be a writer.
After all, writers know everything! By the time I came home from the Marines at nineteen years old, I wanted to be a writer and a poet. The problem was I did not know anything. As I read and fell in love with words, I discovered that poems could be books in themselves. Now, at this age, I have just one novel published, but I have an abundance of poems to share with you. It takes me years to write a novel, but poems come into my mind every day. I like to look at a face, much like an artist does, and then sit down and write a poem for that face. About the Author
Thomas Kemp is a sixty-one year old divorced man and the father of two grown sons, a daughter, and one lovely Russian daughter-in-law. He started writing poetry for his own enjoyment when he was nineteen years old and a Marine stationed in the
