About the Author

Laura C. Hood was born in Bibb County, Georgia, and she is in her first year of college at the University of Montevallo, in Shelby County, Alabama, where she is majoring in Art and Art History. Sara M. Hood was born in Jefferson County, Alabama, and she is a graduate of the University of Alabama. She works in public relations for the Bruno Event Team in Birmingham, Alabama. Hugh M. Hood was born in Habersham County, Georgia; he holds a dental degree from Emory University and a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He practiced internal medicine in Birmingham, Alabama for a number of years, and is presently the Medical Director of HealthSpring of Alabama, a Medicare Advantage Plan. Jack B. Hood was born in Habersham County, Georgia; he studied law at the University of Georgia and international law at the University of Cambridge; he is a member of the Alabama, District of Columbia, Georgia, Tennessee, and former Canal Zone bars. He practices law as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama. All are interested in local, regional, and family history.
