About the Book

This Story that started out as one book but ended up being a Saga was written by Lillian Phelps Pearson the great grand daughter of Rev. Benjamin and Sarah Phelps.Lillian was born to Ruth Coverdale the daughter of John Phelps who was the second son of Rev. Ben. She was born near the town of Danbury NH in the family home on Raggedy Mountain. In her early childhood the family moved to Delaware, to be close to her father's family. Where the father turned back to his boyhood occupation of farming. This was her way of life until 1932 when she married the love of her life, Carl Pearson. They began their married life in the small town of Harrington. Their only child Patricia was born and reared there. The years of the 30's was the time of a great depression in the United States, so to say they were poor is to pass over it lightly. Lillian soon knew that she could not be a stay at home mother, thus she took work in one of the sewing factory in the town, to supplement their income. She was a conscientious worker and was promoted from an operator to fore lady to assistant manager to plant manger, a position she held for 15 years until the plant closed and was sold in 1978. Soon after her retirement is when she began writing the story based on the life of her great grand father. Now at age 89 she is being called the grand Mom Moses of the literary world, by some friends, as she completes this saga. She gives God the glory for all the blessings of her life having surrendered her life to the Lord back in 1942 and has endeavored to follow His leading from that day until the present. Nothing in this world system can be as rewarding as knowing the Lord in a personal way is her motto. She would like her writing to cause everyone who reads these books to think of the way God would have them live for Him.
