About the Book

My book will either make you laugh or cry because I do have a vivid imagination and this is what this poetry book is all about.

The poetry that is written in this book is based on many things about the past, the present and the future. Most people call it Contemporary poetry but I call it Everyday poetry, only what I have written about are things that go on in everyday life and true factual events and some that I call story poems, poems of great imagination that will keep the reader glued right to the end.

I have also included poems for children of all ages and some are a bit saucy so parents just skip those pages when the little ones are around.

Then when there in bed just laugh out loud.

My book has also seen people in all walks of life because I have been around them some time in my life and I have looked upon them both rich and poor and worked with them as well.

I am rather a patriotic person so I have included a couple of war poems to remember those who fought in two World Wars.

I have kept my poems under lock and key, but now I want the world to see, what I have written over the years.

A study of social history has helped put this book together, where different events are happening everyday some I have included in this book.

This book only contains some of my collected work; I hope you will enjoy reading my poems just as I have enjoyed writing them.

There are a lot of great poets in this world, maybe I don’t have the skill that they have but I see life as it is and that is what I write about.

Everyday Poetry, that can be a pleasure to read.

About the Author

I was born in Plumstead South East London; I grew up with three sisters and a brother. My Father died when I was seven which was a great loss not only too my mother but all of us children.

I went to school in Plumstead and it was at school I found that I had an interest in creative writing, I also found out at a later date that I was word blind a type of dyslexia which was discovered when I went back to college after my children had grown up. My hobbies are reading, writing and gardening, I am a very keen gardener and I have been awarded certificates.

I have been writing poems and short stories since I was at school. Eighteen years ago my Husband and I came to live in Norfolk; I have found that The East Coast and the Norfolk countryside is just a wonderful place to live. I get inspiration to write from almost every thing I see and hear. Writing poetry has helped me to be able to spell better and I have found great enjoyment finding words that I never knew existed.

I am semi retired and I am a great cat lover, I have three of my own and they too give me a great amount of inspiration

I am not a classical writer although I do love classical poetry. I am an everyday poet who writes what she sees and I get great pleasure out of writing this way. I hope that I can give you pleasure from reading my first book “Everyday Poetry for Pleasure!
