GOOD OLD DAYS
I come at sit beside your bed.
I hold your hand, I stroke your head.
We reminisce about the past.
Those good old days just could not last.
We look at photos old and new.
Oh how we've changed, we've aged, we've grew.
Our lives have bought great joy and tears,
And with it all came lots of precious souvenirs.
I wish that I could now stop time.
And sit here forever, your hand in mine.
But memories we share will always keep us close.
It's those wonderous moments that I will cherish most.

About the Author
Diane Alter comes from a large family and learned early on about sharing, caring, competing, winning, losing, and love. Her father, a colonel in the Marines, expected and received nothing less than respect, excellence and endurance. Diane's mother passed away recently; she always looked for and found the good and the positive in everyone and every situation. Her 4 brothers and 5 sisters are an eclectic mix and a big part of her life. Diane says she is not a writer or a storyteller, but simply a thinker. She writes so she can clear her mind and move on to the next thought.
