About the Book

Tired of not knowing what I wanted out of life and tired ofbeing poor, I joined the
United States Navy .It was during this four year period that I became bored and
disgruntled, longing for the freedom I use to know. From this state was born the idea of
buying a motorcycle and driving it from Key West, Florida to Denali National Park in
Alaska. The trip would outline North America beginning with the south, carry me through
Canada to Alaska, and return along the northern border to the east coast and ultimately
back to the south where I had began. ' This idea became a reality in the spring of 2002.
The journey lasted three months and covered over 18,000 miles and this book is an
account of the events and reflections that transpired over the course of those miles.

About the Author

I grew up in Gainesville, GA on Lake Lanier and moved to Charlotte, NC at the
age of 15. Once graduated from South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, I attended
Campbell University and received a Bachelor's of Art in Biology. Attended three years of
graduate school at DaJlas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas followed by four years in
the United States Navy. The majority ofmy life has been spent traveling the U.S.,
Europe, and South America.
Currently I am teaching school in Charlotte, North Carolina and traveling during
the summers.
