http://www.rebeccaparkins.com Rebecca Katherine Parkins has written and published poems, and has continued throughout her life to write stories and illustrate them from the time she was a small child. She comes from a long line of actors, writers, poets, and artists who ultimately expressed their creativity in the field of education. As a harpist she incorporates the lyrical sound of music into her writing. Education: Rebecca received her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from the University of Colorado Medical School, and proceeded to earn her Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado. Next she received her Principal’s License from the University of Colorado. Vocation: Ms Parkins played her harp in orchestras, at weddings and in small ensembles for serval years. She then worked as a Medical Technologist and went on to enter the field of law as a Medical Mal-Practice Litigation Paralegal, and finally she ended up in education. She has taught reading and has been a reading interventionist for many years in the Colorado Public School System. She loves to pass on her love for reading and writing to her students of all ages and backgrounds. She has won International Merit Poetry Awards and is in the Cambridge Who's Who.
