Posted --Every Hunter has places he knows of, ---Where the rabbits and squirrels are grand,--- It’s the place where we all are forbidden, ---The oasis that’s called ‘posted land’. ---The deer are more numerous and plenty, --Then dandelions are in your yard, --Oh how we would like to get in there, ----But old Mrs. Franks has us barred. ---An awfully nice lady to meet her, ---And everyone thinks she’s just grand, ---But just take one step in her pasture, ----And she’ll run you right off of her land. ---So safe are the game where it’s posted, ---They sing out a chorus of thanks, ---For ‘No Hunting’ signs on the fencepost, ---And the sharp eyes of Old Mrs. Franks.

Author Lonnie Rittenour, a gradute of California University and St. Vincents College, has been writing poetry and lyrics for years that have entertained thousands. A native of southwestern Pennsylvania, he continues to live there today with his wife Roselyn and daughter Kristen and son Nathan. Lonnie has grown-up hunting and enjoying the outdoors all his life.
