Grandma and Ta then walked to the duck pen but could only see one of the ducks in the swimming pool. “That’s strange, Ta said. Let me get the flash light and see where the other one is.” He came back and they could only find Ducky Lucky in the swimming pool.
They called to Ducky Lucky, but his back was turned to them and he would not turn around. It seemed very strange to Grandma and Ta because the ducks would always come up to them when they called them.
Grandma and Ta called out to Lucy Duck but there was no answer. They looked in their little house and she was not there. Grandma and Ta then walked the entire grounds around the ranch with the flashlight shining in every corner calling for Lucy Duck. They looked everywhere but Lucy Duck was nowhere to be found.
“What could have happened to Lucy Duck?” Ta kept saying. He told Grandma, “Maybe she flew off into the woods.” After looking everywhere and not finding her, Ta said, “Let’s go in and maybe we can find her tomorrow.”
Just then, Grandma noticed something right next to the duck pen. She said, “Wait, what is that?”
