About the Book
These are the songs, with the stories of their flames. Burning within the fire red sun. As life's battles, suddenly takes an unexpected turn. In the depths of it's being. But with the moon and stars above and beyond; there is life and love, in the mids't of it all to survive. Within the unbelievable freedom of the universe.
About the Author
Astra B. Channer is a native from the Caribbean island of Kingston Jamaica. She migrated to the United States after completing Excelsior High School, and Jamaica Commercial Institute. She later attended The City College Of New York. She started writing Poetry in her early teens. Today as a brain tumor survivor, she has regained a deeper sense of self, with a new lease on life. She took baby steps by learning to walk again. By the recommendation of a friend, two weeks after being discharged from the hospital, her passion for writing Poetry was rekindled. It has been therapeutic for her mentally, spiritually and physically. With this energy she hopes to inspire others, through her written work. Astra received editor's choice awards in 2003 and 2004 from the International Society Of Poets. To date her first book of Poems entitled "Freedom Souls," was Self-Published by Authorhouse in 2005.
