About the Book

Sharing her heart in a warm and sincere rhapsody of prose and poetry, author, Sandra Custard, ignites the emotions of her readers with both tears and laughter. Offering insight and words of encouragement from the Word of God on matters of faith, family and friends, she addresses many of life’s everyday situations and the struggles encountered by Christian people everywhere.

The book is illustrated by the very talented, Robert Williams, known by most Mississippians as “Uncle Bunky.” Uncle Bunky became an ikon around the Columbus and Tupelo areas when he began the popular television kid’s show, “Fun Time,” that aired some 24 years on WCBI and WLOV television stations.

About the Author

Sandra Custard is a native of Mississippi and is the former Sandra Clemmons of Columbus. She is the mother of one daughter, Monica Yates of Bristol, TN, one son, Brian Custard of Columbus, and the grandmother of three girls. She and her husband, Ken, are active members of Woodland Baptist Church in Columbus. Like most Christians, she is no stranger to trials, disappointments, temptations and battle scars, but believes that every experience for the Christian is intended to teach us to walk by faith and not by sight, and to bring us into a closer walk with the Lord. For those who are searching for peace, purpose and fulfillment in their lives, she offers hope in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Her poem, “Expressions,” perhaps best sums up her love of  writing.

I write to find a way to express

Who I am inside

To identify what I think and feel

And reveal the things I hide

She states, “I have found that writing helps me to express thoughts and emotions that I am sometimes unable to verbalize. It also affords me the advantage of looking inward and questioning my own thoughts and motives before expressing them. I believe this could be beneficial for us all. I wonder how many of our words and actions would be altered if we first penned them and could see the thoughts and intents of our hearts, on paper, staring back at us. I am convinced that many of life’s mistakes could be avoided if only we would learn to think before we act or speak. Therefore was born the title of this book taken from the Book of Philippians, Think on These Things.
