Why Jesus Spoke in Parables
(Matthew 13:10-17)
Since God has a pearl of great price to share
(no oyster in His sea could ever mold)
Christ speaks parables to crowds in the square.
As His disciples knock, He hears their prayer
and tells how His parables will unfold,
since God has a pearl of great price to share.
Yet to ears that won't hear, He'll not declare;
for this rationale, we are also told,
"Christ speaks parables to crowds in the square."
Asaph wrote in Psalms how he was aware
that Christ would utter hidden things of old,
since God has a pearl of great price to share.
Isaiah once warned how we'd look elsewhere
because we understand with hearts ice-cold;

Most men who do not seek His pearl stand there,
still, like tares sown amid the wheat. Behold,
