About the Book

Roy V. Benson has introspectively changed his day to day purpose of living by selfishly accepting the Lord throughout his most every thought and action. He asymptotically enriches everyone he encounters, without overbearance.

Throughout this Volume One of My First Poems, the readers gain many comfortable real life tools which empowers them to casually accept every day stuff. The readers thus get a surreal feeling of Roy's thoughtfulness, selflessness, fullfillment of spirit and freedom of pain as illustrated here, which translates into the readers gaining  Peace of mind . . .

NO THANKS

What small and puny men we are

No thanks for life to give

But take each blessing as though it’s ours

A selfish life to live

No thanks for food before us spread

No thanks for health itself

Too busy Lord, I guess we are

To gather things of wealth

Too busy just to pause in thanks

Ungrateful creatures we

I’m sure when He looks down on us

Ungratefulness He sees

Too busy with the things about

No prayer of thanks above

But take for granted all these things

The blessings of His love

I pray that I, for one will learn

To give My thanks to Thee

In all things Lord, the big and small

My life may grateful be.

About the Author

On July 11th, 1922, Nineteen hundred and Twenty Two of the Lord,. at Hoquiam General Hospital in the Pacific Northwest, Roy V. Benson started his visit here on earth.  Roy readily accepted the Lord until the age of 14, when he departed. He  came back to the Lord twelve years later in 1948. Roy was further blessed in 1960 to meet a true angel and love of his life, Renee. Roy took very special care of Renee on their spiritual journey even through her Altheimer years until she was welcomed through the gates of Heaven in 2001.

To date, Roy has hand written more than 200 books of Spiritual poems. One of his dreams came true, again, in 2006 with this first published book "My First Poems" circa 1960.

I Met A Man, A Gentle Man

I met a man, a gentle man

Along the road one day

They called him Ron, that was his name

I met along the way

I’m 83, he gave to me

A dream that would come true

He told me in his gentle way

My life it isn’t through

Our loving Lord He touched my life

I cannot here explain

I am so grateful for that man

I’ll never be the same

A Bible Book Store opened up

It’s all because of Ron

I saw the opening on that day

The breaking of the dawn

He made an old man’s dream come true

That day that here we met

O yes he blest my life so much

I never shall forget

I met a man, a gentle man

He made my dreams come true

I guess my Lord is telling me

I have some more to do.
