About the Book

AliCiah Carter had it all, beauty, wealth, and success, but something was still missing from her life.  She longed to find that one man that could share her dreams, her hopes, and ambitions.  Personality, combined with superb design skills, put her high in demand among some of the most prestigious clientele at Ellis and Barnes Advertising Agency. But could the beautiful young advertising executive help a prominent surgeon heal from the pain of his past without it costing her everything, her faith, her morals, her beliefs, and even her life?

Dr. Kaleel James was a prominent Cardiac Surgeon in one of the most prestigious hospitals in California.  After a series of unfortunate circumstances, he resolved to never finding that perfect love for himself, until he met AliCiah.  To him she was a welcomed distraction, a worthless compass, and terminal illness wrapped into one, but to be without her would destroy him. Every one of her smiles showed certain uniqueness to this woman, and he was absolutely fascinated by her in every way.

As the attraction continued to grow between them, one mistake on his part can take the woman he came to love away from him forever.  Dr. James unmistakably learns the valuable lesson that love cannot be taken for granted.

About the Author

Booker T. Washington once wrote that "Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed."

Thelma Douglas considers herself to be successful in life. A devoted Christian, mother of one, the forty three year old native Californian grew up in a small town in east Texas. Her passion has always been to write, but she put that passion on hold while she served her country in the United States Marine Corps.  After her service obligations were completed, Miss Douglas chose to remain in Southern California and raised her daughter as a single parent.  She has an insatiable heart for children and children’s stories.  Although she has written several short stories for children, she never published any of her works until now.  My Dearest AliCiah is the first of many books to come.  After being inspired by such greats as Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry, Thelma learned to “Dream Big” and “Always pursue your dreams”. To both of these two talented individuals, Miss Douglas would like to personally extend heartfelt gratitude.  But first and all accolades are attributed to God for giving her the talent to sit down and pen her thoughts as He gave them to her.  Borrowing from the words of Mariane Williamson, Miss Douglas invites everyone to strive to reach their fullest potential.  Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.”

Her prayer is that this book will inspire the reader to hold fast to their faith.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with waiting until you find that person that you willingly commit the rest of your life to before you engage into that intimate moment that is shared between husband and wife.
