Reflections of Me

I met him one day looking fine as New Jersey wine.

We talked for hours and hours and all seemed fine.

We spent some time together and slowly the truth was revealed.

He chattered and chattered, not making much sense, as I thought with skill.

This is the one that got away.

He must be great at fooling folks because he spends much of his time telling jokes.

I always wondered what he’d be like -- you know the ones that SEEM alright?

I think it’s time to turn my friend in and give him some much needed rest.

He’s the one, you know the one, who flew over the coo coo’s nest.

It started out as a dream,

To achieve something so real, what can it mean?

We write down our ideas and start to set goals,

Please don’t let me be too old.

Haters and naysayers all abound,

They can’t believe the blessings we’ve found.

Live your dream,

Fight to make it happen.

Don’t doubt yourself at all,

Dream thieves want us to fall.

Start on your way and never look back,

Be girded up for the ultimate attack.

Live your dreams and don’t believe “no” or “can’t.”

Be willing to make sacrifices,

Force yourself to chant, “I can do it,” “I can do it,”

Regardless of the challenges.

Be true to yourself; you make it happen.

Live your dreams and know your intentions,

Negative folks provoke you and make your dreams come to fruition.
