About the Book

Anthony (Tony) Richetelli accidentally, kills his sister-in-law; he panics, and hides her body.  He did not realize that his older brother Vincent would be accused, convicted, and sentenced to life in prison for killing his wife.  Tony is in the US Army.  But, before going overseas, he marries the girl next door, changes his last name to Ritchie, and adopts his brother’s infant son.  When WWII begins, he is in the Philippines, and is captured by the Japanese. Tony survives the Bataan Death March as well as the prison camps - he is a war hero.  Guilt has haunted him most of his adult life. He is driven to confess his crime after 30 years, when questioned by his adopted son, John. Tony goes to the authorities to clear his conscience and his brother’s name, and to take his punishment.

About the Author

George is 80 years old, and a retired manufacturing enginer. He lives with his wife in Orange, CT. with their two daughters nearby.  A few years ago his daughters convinced him to purchase a computer, and he has learned to use it well enough to begin writing stories that he has thought about for years.  "The Time Capsule" is his first published novel.  In 2003 he wrote a book of short humorous stories, tiltled "My Memories Aboard U.S.S. L.S.T. 919 During WWII".  Just 50 copies were printed and one was sent to every surviving crew member of L.S.T. 919.  At the age of 17 Lewis enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during WWII aboard L.S.T. 919 in the South Pacific.
