Fly
You do special things
From day to day
It makes me wonder where you hide those wings
And why you don’t fly away
I see it in your smile
And in the sparkle of your eyes
I wish that you could stay awhile
So I could ask you if an Angel ever cries
Don’t worry; your secret is safe with me
Because it lies within my heart
I dread the way life would be
If you must someday depart
If you do ever have to leave
Don’t forget to say “goodbye”
You know, of course, that I will grieve
But at least you’ll get to fly

If Nothing Else
My friends have told me
Time and time again
To try to not focus
On what might’ve been
But at this point
You’d think that they’d finally see
I’m dreaming of things
That could still possibly be
But if I should go through my life
And never again feel your kiss
If nothing else
Let me leave them with this
Let them say
When my life is through
That I loved no one else
Like I Loved you
That I held on
When they all would’ve let go

James Alan VanHowe was born on March 16, 1983 to the parents John Sr. and Sally, the sisters Gina and Lisa, and the brother John Jr. He was born and raised in the Chicagoland area and he lives there still.
