Herein is the heart of the matter:
How to climb Jacob's ladder?
To ultimately find the way and complete love's course
And get to love's destination, returning to its source.
Love's one true and noble goal
Is to reach its source whence it came and be again whole.
Where is love going? It goes to God, for he is love, and thus we can infer
We find the truth in God for our direction, for he is love and love is the answer.
Those with love in their hearts shall feel an uplifting in the valley of decision,
And there we find the answers. We follow our hearts, and returning to him in love, we discover, is our mission.
Yet men tempt to go to heaven like a fly's futile flight through glass;
The try and try all their lives, but still they cannot pass.
For it is not by works, and your eyes deceive you, and truth you ignore,
For to get to heaven, you see, you've got to use the door.
We found the door to get back to him with a way around the infinite length and invisible barriers in which men are floored,
And in truth, we find our way and avoid the traps of our own eyes and understanding that our love might be restored.
God's love is the answer. He provided a way with an open door found in his Son,
For in him is found the truth that guides us through the pane to reach love's destination.
The Son had the perfect heart of God, and in its power and grace opened a way and created love's only complete conduit.
If we accept his direction and acknowledge his love and truth, we will find our way through it.
Mankind's natural instinct yet dooms them to the floor, not by ability or understanding, but only by grace can we reach as high.
With love in our heart for the Son, we may return in love through him and gain the truth to fly.

About the Author
The fact that this book was written the year of 9/11 was not something that I wanted to ignore in the plot. In fact, considering that the works of these scrolls come from the heart, I actually wanted to tear into the plot and let those events almost seem to crash into the middle of this book. It was not a stretch to do that because I don't think that there has ever been a country in history that represents the ideals of love more than America. Whether it is represented in the unity of its people, its open door and welcome mat to the people of every stripe, or the assistence it provides to the poor, oppressed, and afflicted throughout the world.
It is for such reasons as this that I always knew I would write The American Scrolls, a chapter that now appears in this book. This chapter includes poems that capture eloquently of course, the patriotism of myself and all Americans. It includes poems like Old Glory, Freedom, The American Dream, and The New Frontier. Beyond that, this book has a great story to tell about truly capturing the American dream and preserving it when it is in danger. This book truly has a great tale to tell everyone, not just Americans, but those with patriotism and heart around the world. Because in a world that is getting smaller, we are not just citizens of America, but citizens of the world, and for those that believe, citizens of the greater Kingdom. The Love Scrolls: Angel is my fourth written work.
