When Princess the Horse did not understand what the word nocturnal meant she "took the risk" and asked Jasmine,
"Jasmine," Princess asked, "What does nocturnal mean?"
"Nocturnal you see simply means I see better at night,Like others in the woods-even some who take flight!
For example she continued, the bat and the owl, they are just two,The bat hangs during the day and the owl says whoooo!
Some live on the ground, like my friend the racoon,If you hang around you'll meet him soon!
We are all very special in our own unique way,But one thing's for sure...we like night more than day!
And with that Jasmine crawled back into the hollow log to go to sleep.

About the Book
"A Horse Named Princess-It's Nice To Meet You" is the second book in the series about Princess the horse. These books have been written to teach children about the life stages of horses through the literary elements of reality and fantasy. In this book Princess meets a skunk whose name is Jasmine. Princess is sure to use her very best manners when she meets Jasmine, always setting a good example for her young readers.
Jasmine tells Princess that she is nocturnal. Princess does not know what nocturnal means so she takes the risk and asks her!Princess then leaves the woods and heads back to the barn trying to figure out how she can help her new friend. About the Author
Holly Miller is a formal special education teacher whose love for animals and children have inspired her to write this series of books about Princess the horse. Living in Daniel, Wyoming in a small cabin close to the Green River spending many hours with her animals has motivated her .
Holly has chosen this avenue of communicating with children and animals for a veriety of reasons. She truly feels that horses show many different emotions in their daily life experiences. She hopes to teach children about these experiences and the special gifts animals can give to their owners and friends through Princess the Horse in all of her adventures.
