About the Book

This book is a compilation of over 11 years of writing poetry. It is a mixture of different kinds and styles of poems that always rhyme as opposed to free verse or prose. All odd-numbered lines tend to be seven or eight syllables long. Most of the even-numbered lines tend to be six syllables long and rhyme with each other in the majority of the poems. Michael Michalas’ poems tend to have a lyrical quality to them, as though they could be set to music. It makes the message that the author wants to convey a lot easier to digest. Hopefully, this book will appeal to people of all ages and of all walks of life.

About the Author

Michael Michalas began writing poetry soon after being diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in 1995 at the age of 23. He was encouraged to write down his thoughts as a good form of therapy. Michael found that poetry was the best and simplest way to express himself. Despite having no formal education in creative writing, Michael found writing poetry to “come naturally”. Michael Michalas’ straightforward and rhythmic style is meant to appeal to a broad readership. Even those who “do not like poetry” should appreciate his universal themes, personal touch, and occasional sense of humor. Michael Michalas is an award-winning poet and lives in Southern California.
