The Tropics

In the first short story, Yaw - the young son of an affluent Ghanaian lawyer - tries to keep an illicit love affair from his parents. They would rather he dated a young Ghanaian lady of their breeding and class as opposed to the white Australian lady he has chosen. The same is true of his lover, Celeste. Is there any future in their love story?

In the second story, Peter - a teenage English boy-  has recently lost his mother to cancer. Coupled with this, Peter's world is turned upside down when he has to leave the few friends he has, his relations and his school in England to go and live in Ghana because his father has taken up a new job there. How will Peter cope? Will his career-minded father be able to provide him with the emotional support which he so desperately needs and craves?

In the third story, a young Ghanaian boy travels progressively west to discover if the hallmarks of Western culture and living are as beneficial and wonderful as they are portrayed in his hometown.
