About the Book
When I wrote my book “Is Your Mind Shackle Free about four or more years ago?” I was inspired by a book I read titled: "The Willie Lynch Letter and The Making of A Slave" This book deals with phsychological slavery. A friend of mind down south shared this information with me. In return, I shared it with any and everyone I came in contact with. I was like Paul Revere in a sense. He said, “The British are coming.” I am saying: “Our Freedom is coming, Our Freedom is coming!” The Freedom I am speaking of is: “The Freedom of The Psychological Slave!” The Psychological Slave may only affect us on a individual case by case basis; being that there are a lot of successful Black/African Americans throughout the world. Although, I feel until we are all free as a group of people, we will never be freed from this plague. Do you agree or disagree? I want my message to remain with you. Just so we are on the same page, my message deals with, “AWARENESS and KNOWLEDGE!” I feel this will help us free our mind of all shackles. So please, ask yourself, is my mind shackle free? If you answer no, ask yourself: “Then don’t you think it is time?”...I do! This is my main reason for writing about it.
Thank you again,
About the Author
I was born March 24, 1967. I was raised in a home with mostly women. My mother was a single parent, who worked as a caretaker, maid and various other jobs to support our family. We even contributed as recipients to the government's financial system....(aka welfare). She raised seven children, four daughters and three sons. I am an identical twin. Although my twin did not survive; his spirit and presence has and always will be with me. Knowing I am a twin gives me an extra drive to become successful. I am a proud father of two children, one girl and one boy. I have tried my share of careers. My main goal in mind is to show the younger people in my family that if you never give up; you can do anything you set your mind to. I served a total of 18 years in the military and attended several colleges, while serving our country. Immediately after my Honorable Discharge from the Military; I was a Corrections Officer and a Certified Instructor. I was giving the opportunity to model locally, which leads to acting positions. I was an extra in Jane Seymour’s movie, “Sun Stroke”; and had a bit part in a Billy Blank’s movie; “Showdown.” (I catch a beat down. Funny scene though; plus it $PAID WELL! YEP!) I am the type of person who faces my mistakes and issues straight on and some people are not use to this method. In 1987, I attended Basic Training. My Drill Sergeants had me recite this; “Good Better Best, Never Let Me Rest, Until My Good Is Good and My Betters Best!” I am not sure were they got this, but I still remember it. I also try to live by it.
