About the Book

Ecotourism is becoming very popular worldwide. Getting deep in nature and pushing yourself to new limits will help you rediscover what you thought you lost. In California, it is very diverse with mountains, deserts, caves, and a network of rivers. It would take years to truly explore them all. Whether it is driving off road in a National Forest, going scuba diving in the Ocean, or camping by volcanic caves to overcome fears, it will be an experience to remember. For the younger generation, there are plenty of challenges here for you too. About the Author

   The author grew up in Corpus Christi, TX by a Naval Air Base where his father was stationed. He would pass time surfing at Padre Island by Bob Hall Pier and at other popular surf spots. During junior high, he moved back to California and ended up on his uncle's ranch in a small town called Valley Home. 

   He conformed to wearing boots since he had to ride horses in order to get his uncle's cattle. Friends would always come over to go horseback riding, but would never help catch the horses. He finally learned to trick them into helping do chores first, then they would ride. As soon as he got his driver's license, he drove to Santa Cruz and surfed on the weekends. Due to ranch work and sports, he became too heavy for his surfboard and got into skiing, free diving, and eventually scuba diving.

   When the author went back home to Corpus Christi several years later to see old friends and would get giggles when they answered the door and looked down at his boots. He eventually went back to sandals and being casual, then ended up as a Divemaster. He was a Divemaster for over seven (7) years and contracted with the local dive shop before eventually becoming an Instructor at the OADC dive shop in Venice (Venice Beach). Now, he raises his son by his self and they go on adventures all the time together here in the California Outback... Cheers,
