Still unable to move, Deanna held her breath as she began to fall over the cliff to her certain death. She fell forward and could see the ground rushing up to meet her. Her body turned in the air and she could see that is was Paul who had pushed her off the bluff. Suddenly, she hit the ground creating a small shock wave through the dirt, and a cloud of dust rose from the ground around her. After taking a moment to assess her condition, she realized that she had not been hurt at all.
Deanna looked up at the cliff from which she fell and she saw Paul standing there like a demon in the night. He was wearing a long black overcoat, and was standing at the edge of the bluff, laughing. She saw a light behind him that began to grow brighter and brighter until finally it consumed his image. Deanna now realized that she was lying in her bed, slowly gaining the awareness that she had just experienced a nightmare. The light that consumed Paul's image was the morning sun that rose to shine through her window. The image of Paul standing atop the bluff watching her plummet to her death remained burned into her memory.
“Strike two, asshole!” Deanna smirked as she attempted to raise herself up out of her bed to stretch, When she tried to stand up, her body felt rigid and heavy. She fell onto the floor. On her way down, fear had set in, and she could not move fast enough to brace for the fall. She hit the floor with a thud that could be heard from the next room, which was Kelsi’s. Kelsi got up to investigate the sound.
