About the Book
Allegories of a Red Hot Angel is a collection of poems and one prose that began ten years ago. Self-reflective. Descriptive. Experiential. Connected. Observant. These poems capture life from the perspective of one black woman over the course of love and vulnerability, racism, music and maturation while living in the City of Angels.
About the Author
Fumilayo Bankole began writing stories at the age of eight and journaling by twelve. She has co-produced a CD entitled L.A. River composed of twelve acoustic songs and poetry. She has self-published a chapbook called Zoom Zooms & Wham Whams and has poetry included in an anthology entitled Black Love. Foremost, she has written a speculative fiction novel entitled Canaan’s Labyrinth and its sequel, which will be published in the near future. Fumilayo lives in Los Angeles with her son.
