CHAPTER 1
Mrs. Tangley’s normally quiet class was at its restless peak
with anticipation of the afternoon bell, which would offi cially end
the school week.
Th e constant creaking of the hard wooden desk seats, caused
by the squirming of twenty-fi ve children added to the agony
of those last few minutes before the bell rang. With it came a
refreshing change of scenery from the dismal green chalkboards,
to the bright shine of the March sun.
Little Rebecca Swanson was completing her fi nest most
relaxing yawn of the day, as she pulled in her tiny arms and brushed
back her strawberry blonde locks with one hand, while rubbing
her pretty blue eyes with the other. Gazing out through the glare
of the window, she smiled, as she spotted two birds chasing each
other back and forth in front of the basketball backboard. Looking
beyond that, off in the distance, her smile quickly vanished, as
she viewed the vine-covered steeple of the old church protruding
through the line of trees. Just then the clang of the long-waited
bell sounded.

About the Book
This is a novel following the trials, tribulations and torment of a young girl
who despite her rejection by authorities, miraculously returns from what many
thought was her death to save a town from the grips of sure disaster.
It is a story about innocence and rejection. A six year old child has nothing but
innocence. If only the entire world were that way.
It is a story about miracles and the disbelief that follows.
Everyone wishes for miracles, but many question them when they arrive.
The down-trod-den is sometimes the real hero. Never look down on another.
They may be your savior later on.
Even in seriousness there still can be humor. Surely, both a tear and a smile can
exist together in a story.
A town is born.
The shame of town officials and the greed of some will never be forgotten.
There are always those in life that will attempt to take advantage. Unfortunately,
we must live with them.
About the Author
Daniel Sullivan was born in
there, graduating from high school in 1960. He immediately joined the
Coast Guard and served for four years, visiting ports from
England Telephone and stayed working with them until recently retiring from
the company, now named Verizon. During his employment he enrolled in night
courses at
