TATIANA VIDAL S. Active member of SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators), graduated from Universidad de Monterrey where she studied Educational Science and the University of New York where she completed her master’s degree in Technology in Education at Steinhardt School of Education. Since fourteen, Tatiana has worked with children; fist as a counselor at “Camp Mishannock” in Boston, MA. , and later as an owner of “Summer Camp La Huella” in Sonora, Mexico. She also worked as a kindergarten teacher in Mexico, and as an assistant web designer for the Noggin Channel for kids, tweens, and teens at Viacom in New York. Having concern for the lack of young readers and the cultural movement in her own country, Tatiana decided to start her own company, thus becoming an entrepreneur early in her career. In August of 2004, as an owner and publisher in Sonora Mexico, she launched the publication “De-Kids”; a monthly magazine printed and based on the Internet for kids ages 6 to 12. In December of 2006, “De-Kids” expanded to other states of the country. After publishing twenty-eight editions of this magazine, currently printing has stopped. Today, “De-Kids” produces non-periodic magazines for specific clients in various areas and industries such as: school materials, government publications addressing children and family issues, and similar businesses. Her passion and love for developing the creative, intellectual, and social skills of children have driven her to create small characters that teach different aspects of everyday life. Throughout this book, Lory and Mazel show their love for the kitchen, creativity, and good eating habits.
