Doris McGee is a forty- seven year old married black female who was born and lives in Valdosta, Ga. where her father and mother is currently residing. She has six siblings, two children and eight grandchildren. Doris started writing poems in 1993 during the time she was struggling with substance abuse. She continues to thank God for delivering her from her addiction and believes with all her heart, that her compassion for women who still suffers from substance abuse is her calling from God, to reach those who feel like she once did, that there is no hope.
Doris first book of poems entitle “The Power of God” was written in 2004. “Heart Transplant” is another book of poems which she believes is more powerful because in Jeremiah 17:9 God said “the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.” In this book Doris is asking you take a journey with her through her preparations as God continue to give her a heart transplant.
She continues to minister to the women where she works and is pursuing her certification to become a substance abuse counselor. Doris believes God is continuing to prepare her heart and mind to go boldly and tell not just women but everyone what God did for her He will and can do it for them if they only believe. Her prayer is that all who read her poems will be inspired to have a relationship with Jesus Christ or have a closer relationship with Jesus Christ to allow God to clean the heart. Be of good cheer about your trails and tribulations because they are all part of God preparations for the glorious celebration of the coming of His son who is King of Kings and Lords of Lords.
