The sages tell us...

Fear of an apocalypse to come is a memory of the loss of a world that was. And they tell u s what we have done before we will do again, for we are a race in amnesia driven to repeat the vicious round of manipulation and destruction, except we cleanse our heart of its ancient hurt.

In the world that was...

In a time before man was imprisoned in his mind made world, earth and the realms of light were one. In those days the Na-Akhu-El sages of the Motherland guided the continuing creation in the earth. These were masters of the four forces, of times and seasons in the cycles of making and unmaking, and wise in the ways of shaping the pattern of things to come in the light, to keep the balance of the worlds.

It is written...

There came a time when the warnings of the sages to refrain for a time from further creation went unheeded, and the world burned. Then the waters of the deep rose upon the  scarred earth, and consciousness of the realms of light  was lost. In the cataclysmic destruction of the world that was, the realms within and without were set asunder, and man was sat down among the ashes.

A dark age ensued but a vestige of the Na-Akhu-El sages survived, and to them was entrusted the way of restoration to the First Time. Long after most had forgotten, Egypt remembered and knew the sages of the Motherland as the Akhu, the shining ones of the First Time. These they say first came to Atlantis, and finding that civilization corrupted the way, journeyed on with the Lord Osiris to Egypt, when he came to create anew the kingdom of the sun.

Our story turns...

On what became of the Na Akhu El sages. It begins in 14th century Egypt. In those days the alchemist Flegetanis of Alexandria, one of but  few remaining of the brotherhood, confronts an ancient adversary, the shaman Morgon Kara, in a dispute over the fallen Templar, Hugues Caron. The contest hinges on possession of the Aton, the stone of sovereignty shaped in the First Time, and key to the survival of the Na Akhu El brotherhood.

In Caron is the power to loose what is written in the Aton, obscured by a beguiling weave of force and illusion that confines him. Nevertheless, in Caron is the power to restore the lost way, to dissolve the veil between the worlds, and loose the power of the realms of light. Failing, he will empower the ancient evil that would possess him and the stone to its designs, condemning the world to the repetition of old sorrows and the delusions of a nightmare age to come.
