About the Book

College Cat is a heart warming and true story about a kitten brought to the College of William & Mary at eight weeks of age by one of the students.  The story follows the life of the kitten from the time it was taken from its mother and siblings through the first year of her life.

I was scared.  I had never been away from my mother and our nice, warm, safe house.  What would become of me?  Who would feed me without my mother around?  Who would I play with and who would teach me new things?”

About the Author

J. William “Bill” Garry, Jr. was born in Kingston, NY and raised in Kennebunk, Maine.  Bill spent thirty years in the banking industry.  When Bill was in middle school he loved the series of books about an Irish Setter dog called “Big Red” written by Jim Kjelgaard.  He thought there were many fiction children’s books on the market, but few non-fiction books.  He always loved animals and one day decided to write a book about their cat, Princess Pansy Pi.  They had her six years before a stray Rhodesian Ridgeback, Storm, came into their neighborhood and home to live.  Bill hopes his readers will note that Princess lives in a safe, warm home with plenty of food and love.  Bill’s sons, Brandon and Brent, and daughter-in-law, Grace, graduated from the College of William and Mary.
