She Believed

About the Book

         Her tears fell softly.  She’d never felt so alone.

             This was the biggest fear she had ever known.

Meet Casey, a sweet little caterpillar, who is traveling through life burdened by an overwhelming fear of heights.  Knowing that one day she will have beautiful butterfly wings, Casey’s heart is filled with worry.  Describing her fear to a friend,

            “I’m afraid of high places.  It lays on my heart.

             How will I fly?  How will I start?”

Casey begins her search for an answer.  Join her in her journey to spiritual freedom, along with her friends Squiggy, Kitty, and Hootie.  Be with Casey as she puts her trust in the Lord, is surrounded by His grace, and overcomes her fear with a triumphant spirit of peace and joy.

 She Believed is the first book in a “Faith Your Fears” series, involving characters who learn to face their fears through faith in the Lord.  This series is intended to encourage and inspire young readers to have faith in God, and to trust Him always when facing their fears.  Following She Believed, you can meet Sammy, a silly goose, in Those Words His Mother Said, and Gomer the gopher in He Saw the Light. 

About the Author

Annette Turner was born on January 3, 1967 in Stuart, Virginia, where she currently resides.  She is married to her husband of eleven years, Ronnie, and has three children, Drew, Kori, and Crystal.  Annette graduated from Virginia Tech in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education, and in 1997 with a master’s degree in Special Education.  She currently teaches at Lawsonville Elementary in Stokes County, North Carolina.  She enjoys spending time with her family, working in the garden, and writing children’s books.
