On a cool April night in the monumental year of 2000, I was, again it always seemed, alone. I decided to write in my new journal, a gift given to me for Christmas. I began reminiscing about the past, the years I had lived, the carefree days of youth gone by, and I was contemplating life; the isolation I was feeling at the young, yet old age of 33.
Suddenly, in the midst of my
self pity, I heard an inaudible voice speak to my inner most being, I felt an
intense and comforting warmth spread throughout my body, and the loneliness I
was feeling quickly vanished into nothingness. I knew, at that moment, my God
was with me, by believing in His Son, and trusting the Spirit dwells in
my soul, I was, and I am, never alone.

alone,
Finding rest
in the calmness of Your breath,
quiet and
still, yet alive with Your death.
I listen to
my own breathing as it matches Your tone,
whispering
in my ear, brushing my face, cooling my skin.
Searching
for Your love, wanting to win,
always being
with You.

What is the meaning of life?
Faith, Truth, and the Pursuit of Life:
Poems of Hope and Love is a poetry collection which attempts
to answer this universal question with an answer which takes many of
us a lifetime to find, and even then, it is found by faith. We spend countless
days of our brief existence on earth in search for an answer to this mysterious question; what is the meaning of life, the
meaning of my life?
The love we
experience in our relationships give life meaning; we love one another with patience and sacrifice. Life is mysterious, but
with Jesus, it makes sense. Without Him, life is selfish.
Relationships crumble without the love of God in our hearts. To find the
truth of love, we must have faith in something greater. So we seek.
Often we find the answer to
the meaning of life in the earth and the stars, or in ancient words and rituals from the people who lived
before us, or inside of every human heart. Wherever we find the clues, they come together to form an answer, the answer which leads to God.
The poems I share seek to answer the mysteries of life, and to consider the true way to live our relationships with others and with our Creator. I have pursued life, the hope for life eternal, and I have found the answer in the truth of Jesus. I hope my poems will inspire and motivate you to pursue the truth of life, and may God bless your journey with faith, hope, and love.
About the Author
Kristin Ball lives with her
husband of twenty years in the beautiful countryside of Mid-Michigan. She is a mother
and step-mother of three adult children, all of whom have brought her deep joy
and lifelong blessing.
She is a devoted Catholic
Christian and finds peace and grace in the Sacraments of the Church. She passionately writes, especially poetry and song lyrics, in hopes of sharing with everyone the love and mercy of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

day is a new opportunity to grow in mind, heart and body, and commits daily to
trust in the power of the Spirit to transform her into the person she is meant

as a wife, mother, teacher, and student.
