Ms Schuepbach’s new novel introduces us to Lyla Greenpants, a senior with spunk, curiosity, insight and courage. A highly original character, Lyla witnesses a grisly murder and cannot rest until she unmasks its cold-blooded perpetrator. Along the way she is an agent of change for a group of engaging characters whose lives evolve dramatically under her apparently modest influence. There is much more to Lyla Greenpants than first meets the eye. Katrina Raleigh, Librarian
Nancy Schuepbach has done it again! The characters in The Misadventures of Mrs. Greenpants come to life in one’s mind and they reverberate with you long after you have finished the book.
About the Author
Nancy McMillan Schuepbach and her husband Chris, of 40 years, live in Larkspur California in an old barge that first appeared on the banks of the Corte Madera Creek in the early 20th century. Now, many times remodeled, this creek-side home became the inspiration for The Misadventures of Mrs. Greenpants. Nancy was born and raised in Seattle Washington and still craves the gloom, preferring it to the hot summers in Larkspur. "Nothing like a low gray sky to perk me right up," she says. Nancy’s background is in music. She is a semi-retired piano teacher and still studies piano herself. She has also produced a CD, Solo, of her original compositions. She is the author of the much talked about novel Murder at the Mane Tamers, Murder in Linden, and this book, The Misadventures of Mrs. Greenpants. Her next book, Grandfather is in the fine-tuning stage and will be published soon. Several other books are in the works. All of this writing keeps her busy between being with her family of fifteen, her teaching, practicing and her art.
