Maybe you heard the story on the news a few years ago about the guy who flew to las vegas from the midwest and lost his life savings, along with his house and anything else he could put up as a marker to cover his gambling. They allowed him to fly home where he promptly killed his wife , family and himself. I'm sure he realized that they wouldn't have anywhere to live and would be in debt to vegas for a very long time. I wonder if the casino went after any relatives for the marker he owed.Just imagine how many stories like that never hit the news. I remember an incident where a carpenter friend of mine sat down with us at work to have his morning snack. Upon opening his sandwich to see what his wife had made, he found only mayonnaise between the bread. He said nothing and closed it and ate it. The next day he confirmed for us that it wasn't an early morning mishap on the part of his wife but a message to him that there was nothing else in the fridge to put in the sandwich due to his gambling losses. She also told him that he should feel lucky that she didn't s#it in it.

the author wishes to remain anonymous at this time to avoid possible consequences as he still lives and works in las vegas as of the time of this release which is the fall of 2008.he would like to make everyone aware that help for the pathological or compulsive gambler is available even in las vegas and is currently in a recovery program.although not allowed to mention the program publicly it is available for all who have a desire to stop gambling.
