Not Just A Memory
People sometimes say
that in time,
they will be forgotten.
But why should a memory
of someone fade,
with each day that passes.
Does this mean that love
that was once there,
was maybe never there?
And all the times spent,
happy or sad
are no longer a part of you.
So when you say I’ll forget you
as time goes on,
is like saying the sun
will forget to rise.
And if that day ever comes,
then and only then
will the memory of you
no longer exist within me.
Unbeatable
From the moment I got up,
I knew it was good.
I wished all my wishes
and knocked on wood.
I feel I’m stronger
and able to surpass.
And nothing conceivable
is out of my grasp.
Doubts fill their minds,
if I’m able to run.
But the day I race,
I’ll prove I have won.

About the Book
The purpose of My Times and Rhymes was to release to the world the poems I had written over the years, but few people had ever read. These poems were written about my experiences in life and love or the experiences of others I have known. Most of these poems were written in high school and college. A number of pieces were published in college, but that was as far as my writing career went. When I recently rediscovered my poems, I began writing again with thoughts of getting them published. I hope you enjoy this collection of poems.
