With over 45 combined years of Christian experience and ministry God called us to write God’s Invitation to More to all believers who want to trade in their complacent Christian life for the abundant life Jesus Christ promised. More often then not we have encountered Christians who live on the shore line of the Christian life. Christ called His disciples to come off the shore line and step into the deep. We long for believers to embrace Christ’s invitation to the joy-filled, abundant life. This life in Christ invites each one of us to a growing intimacy and deepening personal relationship with Him.
This book is designed to invite Christians to a deeper and practical life of faith. It can be read personally or as a tool to help disciple those younger in the faith in one-on-one or in small group settings. By going through this book with another who wishes to be discipled into maturity in Christ, the discipler can identify where the disciple is in their Christian journey. This book will provide insight to the discipler to know how to pray for and encourage the younger believer.
Our heart’s desire is that the content, bible reading, and questions will draw the disciple to an accurate understanding of the Christian faith and promote personal and honest reflection that will result in the following:
¨ A recognition of biblical truth
¨ An invitation to depth, dignity and delight in Christ
¨ A practical and personal process for growing in Christ
¨ And if used as a discipleship tool, a safe spiritual relationship in which personal transparency and dignity are honored with a more mature believer in Christ
Our prayer is that individuals invest in discipling a younger believer (in spiritual age) in the faith. The Bible has called us to come alongside others and help them grow in the faith and in their personal walk and intimacy with the Lord Jesus Christ.
In the New Testament the apostle Paul came alongside new and younger believers until Christ was fully formed in them. We believe this God-mandated one-on-one discipling has been virtually lost in our very busy twenty-first-century Christian lives. Without it, the entire church suffers, Christ is not glorified, and we are plagued with a church full of baby believers who are not able to fulfill God’s calling on their lives.
When our stated spiritual beliefs are reflected in our everyday practical life, it is evidence that we are allowing the Spirit to lead our life into maturity in the faith. When we own what we believe, it becomes personal. Our prayer is that He may be glorified by each one of us individually and corporately as His Church, the Body of Christ.
If your heart is longing for more in the Christian faith we pray this book leads you back to your first love, Jesus Christ, the only Satisfier of your soul. We ask that you respond to His call to the deeper Christian life, we beckon you to accept God’s invitation to more.
