A Gentle Man
We see you fear, and will try to be strong
My vow is a promise, as we haven't got long
What a kind and genuine, gentle man you are
You're the perfect gentlemen, I know and by far's....
A long way ahead of the rest, thats for sure
From a natural born spring, your blood is still pure
We each have our memories of you, within a story
Lets share with one another now; by honouring his glory
Biking down to work, and known to many; oh there's George
To us he is our patront Saint, will always be adored
Making people laugh, narrated through his younger days
A soldier, father, friend or brother, caring was his way
The life he led, there are many wouldn't match
Those black and white photograph's, he was a good catch
Lets celebrate his life, in a way; he would have liked
A leader of men, until the end; dug in to fight
As we all gather round here, our tribute is to you
A peaceful resting place above, from there's a lovely view
A man of many thoughts; words spoken true, upon his lips
Now rest without pain, our love conceals you, with a kiss

About the Book
The book is a collection of poetry derived from my personal perspective and outlook on life. The book covers a wide range of subjects. It is unique and diverse, by trying to strike a chord with its readers. As the author I am confident the book can deliver its intended portrayl, attempting to share my feelings and thoughts that the reader might relate to. Each poem is accompanied with a full colour sketch, complementing the literacy. The drawings are another perspective and a different angle to illustrate the role each piece is trying to play. Each poem portrays a factual event that has taken place throughout my short life to date. The book itself has taken 4 years to compile of time, personal finance and dedication, though I have enjoyed every single minute producing this work, and I hope its as good a read as it was to write
About the Author
My name is Matthew David Powell. I am 29 years of age and the book ''My Style'' is my debut work. You could say I'm an ironic author, because I love sitting comfortably, experimenting with words and writing them down. Having the patience to read other books I do not have in abundance, which will turn out to be one of my regrets I think. Bedtime stories, read to me by my parents as a child I enjoyed, and also listening to music . So the moral of this story is a hint of idolness possibly?!
