An Earth Angel Takes Flight
My Grandmother Sevilla was a beautiful gift from heaven that we will always treasure. She was a woman that was very loving, graceful and passionate.
Gossip and negativity wasn't her thing, and when someone spoke negative in her presence, she would always reverse the conversation into something positive. She was faithful to God, and devoted to her family, and she gave of herself beyond measure.
My Grandmother had a unique and mystical way about her that reminded me of an angel. Her gentle ways and radiance really stood out in a crowd.
She loved the smell of honeysuckle in the spring, and she loved to hear the birds sing, and she loved to watch the squirrels playing peek-a-boo in the trees. She loved to sit on the porch with her coffee and greet the morning sun, and the stars she loved to watch and wish upon at night.
When she got to the point of not being able to express herself with words, she would just squeeze and pat your hand, this was her way of saying thank you. Not only could you feel the the love and warmth in her touch, but you could see it in her eyes as well.
Three nights before my Grandmother died, she came to me in a dream. She told me God was calling her home, and as the tears rolled down my face, she told me to stop crying because I was going to ruin a good cup of coffee, she wiped my tears and then we laughed and laughed.
I told my Grandmother not to worry about us, and that it was time for her too rest in a better place. Then I said to her; Earth angel take your flight to heaven, and as you cross the River of Jordan don't look back on this troubled world that you are leaving behind. May your flame of fire beneath your wings never fade or dim, and when you reach the twelve gates to the city, leap for joy and receive your crown.
Her royal walk of fame came on April 25 her eighty-seventh birthday, and as the death angel knelt to take her hand, preparations were being made in heaven for a grand celebration in her honor.
As she approached the stairways to heaven, the angels began to sing a song of praise while the cherub orchestra played. Eighty-seven balloons began to float, each one representing a year of her precious life.
When she stepped onto the royal carpet she she had a stunning surprise, her daughter Eula Mae was waiting for her with her white robe and her beautiful crown. Then she had another stunning surprise, she saw my Grandfather George Turner making his way through the crowd. She looked around , smiled that graceful smile as the tears rolled down her lovely face.
My Grandfather presented her with an elegant bouquet of flowers, he gave her a long passionate kiss, "Welcome home my darling Sevilla and Happy Birthday he said as they emrbaced". They escorted her to the garden were they celebrated her birthday as a family and most of all her new beginnings.
"My beautiful earth angel has taken her flight to heaven".
In loving memory of my Grandmother Mrs. Sevilla Turner
