About the Book

Poetry is fascinating to me.  Sometimes I want to know the story behind a poem.  This book will have a section that has the poem, and then a summary of the story behind it.  Every poem in this book has been written through stages of my life and events that I have been through.  There are many different subjects from which my poems are based, so there will be something in here that I'm certain will touch everybody in some way.  My poems are deep, yet understood easily.  Believe me when I say, you will be touched!

About the Author

My Name is Jennifer Leggett and I am 25 years old. I started writing poetry when I was in High School, but never really got too deep into it until I started experiencing deeper things in life, both positive and negative.  The experiences in my life have given me a deeper side to writing.  By this time in my life I have been through more things than anyone should in their entire life. I have realized one thing about these events. Instead of dwelling on all the negative things that have happened, take the positive points out of each event. I have such a strong support group behind me. I thank God every day that my family and friends are so supportive. I have learned to deal with deep feelings that people sometimes want to store away and never deal with. My poetry is my way of getting all of my deep feelings out and letting people know that yes, I have had my share of difficulties, but I'm still here. I'm alive! My Aunt, Terri Bryant, passed away in 2006, and she is the person that got me so much more interested in poetry. I will never forget the influence she had on my life. Even though she is gone, I think of her and reach deep down in my soul and pour out my heart into my poetry. Find that courage deep down inside yourself, and do something with it. Don't dwell on the negative, things you can't change, use it as a tool to make yourself stronger. Thank you to my Father Mike Leggett, my Mother, Bobbi Leggett, and my friends for supporting me and helping me push forward to achieving a goal that I have always wanted. Thank you to everyone! I love you all!
