About the Book

Why not put your feet up and settle back with these rejuvenating poems about love, laughter and everyday living.  Most of the poems are short enough to read on your coffee break.  These poems will help you find peace and gain strength through each message.

The honest and compassionate reflections and sometimes funny verses will be uplifting to most folks who are down.  These poems will jolt you out of your stale routine and will give you a much needed laugh and much more.

When you want to make the most of your fifteen minute break, don’t grab coffee and a donut.  Take a break with a refreshing book that will probably cause you to be late returning to your work station.

“Poems from the Heart” is a book of love and living in the life of its author.  It’s a book that you read and re-read and it will be a classic for generations to come.

After creating over ninety poems, the author seems to have found inspiration from nature, current events and history that gave him great satisfaction.

Over fifty years of the author’s journey through life are represented in this collection of poems.  His desire is that you find joy and pleasure as you take that journey with him through his book.

About the Author

Lynn Bennett Glover was born March 5, 1935 in Knoxville, Tennessee.  After a short time, the family moved to Great Falls, South Carolina, where his father worked as a barber.  The family eventually settled in Winnsboro, South Carolina.

Glover attended Monticello High School where he was sports editor of the school paper, The Panther.  Glover played baseball and basketball in high school and still managed, with good grades, to attain membership into the Beta Club.  He was asked by one of his teachers to write the senior class poem for the year book. Penning this poem was the beginning of his desire to write poetry.

After graduation from High School, Glover enlisted in the U. S. Navy as the Korean War was coming to an end.  His basic training at Great Lakes, Ill. preceded his assignment to the U. S. Navel station in San Diego, California.  Duty aboard the USS Lenawee gave him the opportunity and time to continue his poetic writings.

Glover briefly attended Palmer College in Columbia, South Carolina where he met and married his wife Marie Mims.  Glover and his wife have been married over 41 years and now reside in Concord, North Carolina near their two children and grandchildren.

Glover is a member of Pitts Baptist Church, a Southern Baptist Church, in Concord.  Previously he was a Deacon at Northwest Baptist Church and also served as a Sunday School Teacher.
