About the Book

This is a little story about a very young Ant Prince called Anton. When he must reluctantly leave his colony to start his own life, he has a few problems but is helped by a Spider called Sammy, a Ladybird called Lilly, a Bumblebee called Beatrix and a Wood Mouse called Millie.

About the Author

I have enjoyed writing little stories and poems since I was a child. Due to frequent health problems, I spent many hours recovering in bed and my stories and art helped pass the days. I am now a Mum, Grandma and Great-Grandma and have enjoyed rekindling my little characters to produce stories and pictures for my family. When I retired, to further my education, I studied for a Degree in Illustration for Children’s Publishing at Glyndwr University, Wrexham. I graduated and obtained a B.A. Hons. I hope all who read my stories have as much enjoyment as I have had writing and illustrating them.

I am a person who never writes reviews, but I had to tell all review readers what I thought of "The Big Adventures of Little Prince Anton" by Sue York. It was so entertaining, exciting, informative, full of charm, heart and respect that I had to read it again straight away. I do a a lot of theatre in education work for young people, writing and using many scripts myself and Sue has found a way of educating and sharing her love of wild life through this thrilling memorable story. Sue has also bridged the gap of transitional age range, making this book accessible for a wider range of young people by not needing to put pictures on every page towards the end. I believe this will still hold the interest and attention of younger children encouraging their use of imagination and a smoother transition onto books with no pictures. On the subject of the art work, the clarity of detail is beautiful with a clear show of emotion in the characters. I am especially fond of the picture of Molly the mouse on page 27. In this picture you can see almost every hair strand in the fur. I would really enjoy reading this book to a wide range of young people and feel confident that they would all love it as I do.
