About the Author

Afaka Ofoma is a Civil Engineer by profession. He was born and brought up in a rural community in one of the Southern Regions of Nigeria. He studied Engineering the hard and longest way.

     After an Ordinary Diploma in the renowned Yaba College of Technology he worked for a while and went back for Higher Diploma. This course was however terminated by the outbreak of Nigeria’s Civil war. The writer went home to the embattled region an enrolled into the Biafran Army. He rose to the rank of an Infantry Captain.

     At the end of the Civil War he returned to Yaba College to complete his Higher Diploma. He passed with distinction. The Higher Diploma at that time was graded below the First Degree. He therefore determined and sponsored himself for a two-year remedial course at the University of Lagos. He came out in Second Class Honours (Upper Division).

Afaka Ofoma is happily married and has very good children. He is a Naturalist.
